Profile

I have 11 years of experience, primarily as corporate counsel covering the full legal agenda, from employment contracts to administrative litigation. I do well in places where my legal advice can head problems off before they happen.

I am passionate about legal tech, including building my own working applications with a practical effect. I enjoy the whole process: understanding the client, finding my way around a complex environment, arriving at a solution that works, and the technical side of the job.

Clients and colleagues value my breadth of knowledge combined with empathy, my reliability, the speed of my work, my focus on efficiency, and solutions explained clearly enough for a layperson.

Experience

3CM s.r.o.

  • Running my own company, which offers two main lines of service.
  • Legal tech and development of my own applications (bringing artificial intelligence tools into legal, marketing and business work). The most significant project is an interactive guide to implementing the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Training on data protection, terms and conditions, contracting and mediation (hundreds of people trained). I created and run the Business Accelerator course for mediators.

Other activities

  • GDPR implementation at a notary office in Pardubice and Hradec Králové.
  • Coordination of training, and creation and management of websites and marketing for the Institute of Mediation.
  • A year of running an employment agency specialising in legal professionals.

Corporate counsel

  • I cover the entire legal agenda of selected companies of 80 to 200 employees across a range of fields, from electricity and gas meter manufacturing through tax advisory to healthcare and municipal services (for example ODYSSEIA s.r.o., ELGAS, s.r.o., Eko Bi s.r.o., the AJNA Dental Clinic group of dental clinics and 3D Vision Support), operating throughout the Czech Republic.
  • I draft internal policies and all necessary contracts (employment, commercial), legal opinions and any filings.
  • I support the commercial side (commercial contracts, contracting with a Chinese manufacturer and with customers in Italy, India and Pakistan, tenders with Polish partners, negotiations with ČEZ, innogy and České radiokomunikace) and the employment agenda.
  • I represent companies in court and administrative proceedings (including matters with a cross-border element), among them claims against the tax authority.
  • I act as data protection officer, for example for a vehicle tracking provider and for a children’s home.
  • I build bespoke legal tech tools (for example an application splitting purchase prices for income tax purposes, and a web and mobile application for managing emergency callouts and scheduling shifts).

Sole arbitrator

  • Listed as an arbitrator with the Czech Ministry of Justice since 2014, the registration still stands.
  • I decided four cases and all of them ended in a settlement between the parties. After the law changed the work all but disappeared and the registration now runs on inertia.

Trainee lawyer

  • I worked for the law offices of Mgr. Stanislav Hykyš, JUDr. Vladimír Krejčí and JUDr. Jaroslav Beránek.
  • I appeared for attorneys as their substitute before courts and administrative authorities (drafting claims and other filings).
  • The clients were debt collection agencies, non-profit organisations and church legal entities, alongside individuals in civil matters.

Junior lawyer

  • A free legal advice service for towns and municipalities (answering legal questions in administrative, finance, employment and civil law), for example within Společnost pro rozvoj veřejné správy, o.p.s.
  • Contracts lawyer for online shops (drafting contracts and general terms and conditions) under OpenServis.cz.

Artificial intelligence and technology

I take a specialist problem all the way to a working solution myself, from the brief to deployment.

  • Designing and introducing artificial intelligence procedures for legal, administrative and analytical work.
  • Advanced work with generative artificial intelligence tools, writing my own instructions, specialised modules and knowledge bases.
  • Automated document processing, including optical character recognition and the PDF, Word, Excel, Markdown, JSON and CSV formats.
  • Practical use of Python for processing data and documents and for automating repetitive tasks.
  • Web technologies, REST programming interfaces, public registers and browser automation.
  • Version control with Git, testing, debugging and checking that outputs are correct.
  • Turning a legal or commercial requirement into a technical brief and a working prototype.
  • A focus on verifiability, data protection and the reliability of artificial intelligence output.

Reading science fiction gives me different perspectives and keeps my English going.
